A Georgia man received a little extra surprise when he learned that four pounds of marijuana was stashed inside the frame of a painting he bought at auction. The painting depicted a round burgundy vase with red and white carnations in it.
Gordon Clement, 80, of Cherokee County, Georgia, bought the painting 5 years ago at a Post Office auction. He took the painting to another auction last weekend hoping to get $25 for it, but it didn’t sell. When it was being loaded back into the car to take home, something moved inside it. The back was pried open, and $4,800 worth of marijuana was exposed.
Clement turned the pot over to the police.
