The famous Civil Rights photographer, Ernest Withers, has been exposed as an FBI informant. From Approximately 1968-1970, Withers provided the FBI with photographs and information about the workings of the Civil Rights movement and the key players involved, including Martin Luther King. He also reported on church ministers, politicians, and prominent business leaders in Memphis. Close friends and relatives who were interviewed about Withers’ involvement say they never knew about his relationship with the FBI.
