Gore Vidal Quote About Photography

Gore Vidal

For half a century photography has been the “art form” of the untalented. Obviously some pictures are more satisfactory than others, but where is credit due? to the designer of the camera? To the finger on the button? To the law of averages?  –Gore Vidal, Author, born 1925, New York
For a man who is thought of as intelligent, this is one of the most ignorant quotes about photography I have ever heard.

  1. One might ask Vidal in relationship to this quote, where is credit due in the writing? To the pen, the paper, the computer on which it is type?

  3. Here I thought all these years that Gore Vidal was an amazing writer, when all along the credit goes to Smith-Corona!
